The Crew

Ken and Erin Giles

The Owners - Ken and Erin Giles
"We have lived in Marlborough for many years and have been associated with both the Wine Industry and the Marlborough Sounds for as long as we care to remember. We absolutely love being on the water and when we sold our vineyard we knew that this was what we wanted to do"

Ken and Erin planted their first grapes in 1987 and were pioneers of the Marlborough Wine Industry planting one of the first hillside vineyards in Marlborough. After 20 years in an industry that they found both pleasurable and exciting they decided it was time to move on to something new. And so began the start of their Charter Business and the birth of their new trawler ‘Grape Escape’. They have both gained their Day Skippers and Boat Masters Certificates and have boated in the Marlborough Sounds for the past 30 years.
